Sunday, February 25, 2024, Market Place Innsbruck. Rally titled "Defending Democracy," organized by Fridays For Future. Participants include FLUCHTpunkt, musicians Baiba and Bluatschink, Omas gegen Rechts (Grandmothers Against the Right), ski racer and climate activist Julian Schütter, and many more. Why did Fridays For Future organize this rally? "We need a lived and defensive democracy to implement climate protection."
Here are some impressions: Rallies with seas of lights are taking place nationwide. Demo signs with the words: "Diversity is our strength." and "Heart instead of hate" are visible.
In speeches, it was expressed that we have a responsibility for our democracy. A solidarity-based and tolerant democracy. Political participation is called for, for justice, for the observance of human rights.
We sang together "Wind of Change" by the Scorpions, an anthem for political change in Europe, back then the turning point: "Take me to the magic of the moment, on a glory night, where the children of tomorrow dream away, in the wind of change..".
